Phil has spent much of his career to date in the utility industry, his most recent post being Strategy and Planning Director for the Wastewater business within United Utilities. He was responsible for the development of long term environmental investment programmes, delivery of major capital investment programmes, development of policies and strategies to enhance the environment, improve the level of service given to customers and increase the return to shareholders and investors.
Previous roles have included senior engineering management, change management, product development and investment planning.
Phil’s formal training was originally in electronics and process control. Phil is a Member of the Institute of Measurement and Control, a Member of the Institute of Asset Management and a Member of the Association of Project Management
Phil has been a trustee for Lancashire Economic Enterprise and Red Rose Forests, and has worked in Europe, the USA and the Middle and Far East. Phil is a trustee of Mission Aviation Fellowship.
Phil was appointed an MBE in recognition of his services to the water industry.
